Argon plasma coagulation, fibrin glue effective for treating chylothorax in premature infant.

2004 JAN 8 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Argon plasma coagulation and fibrin glue have proven effective at resolving severe chylothorax in a premature infant.

"Post-traumatic neonatal chylothorax is a rare entity," scientists in France explained. "Management includes medical and surgical treatment."

N. Rifai and colleagues at CHRU Lille described their experience with "a newborn who developed a severe chylothorax after repair of an oesophageal atresia."
