QLD: Nine taken to hopistal after fire at shopping centre
Nine women have been taken to hospital as a precaution after a small electrical fireat a shopping centre on the Gold Coast.
Queensland Ambulance says the fire began at an electrical transformer near a rug storeat the Australia Fair shopping centre in Southport, and was quickly extinguished.
A spokesman says the women, all staff members of nearby stores, reported eye irritationand chest pains from fumes.
They were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital as a precaution.
