The Yaddo Garden Association will benefit from the reading of Katrina Trask's play ``King Alfred's Jewel'' presented in the music room at the Yaddo Mansion Tuesday.
And the public receives a rare opportunity to view the music room of the mansion for the performance of the play that Trask wrote in 1908. She is the founder of Yaddo.
The New York State Theater Institute will present an adaptation of the play directed by Ed Lange. The play is based on the life of King Alfred the Great, who ruled from 871 to 899 and is considered one of the greatest of English kings.
